PERSONAL REFLECTIONS ON SARGENT AND FASHION (TATE BRITAIN), BEYOND FASHION (SAATCHI GALLERY), FRAGILE BEAUTY (V&A), AND PORTRAITS TO DREAM IN (NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY)

The resulting series - "Fade to Filter" delve into the contemporary struggle of artists as they navigate the digital landscape, particularly through social media platforms. The title suggests a gradual decline or transformation, symbolised by the fading, while "filter" references both the literal filters used on social media platforms to enhance images and the metaphorical filters through which artists present themselves and their work online.

LAST WEEKEND, I DELVED INTO THE WORLD OF CONTEMPORARY FASHION AT THE DESIGN MUSEUM'S LATEST EXHIBITION. A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT WITH THE BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL TO MARK THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BFC'S NEWGEN PROGRAMME.

WE CAN SOMETIMES FORGET WITH THE MAYHEM THAT EVERYDAY LIFE CAN BRING, THAT WE OFTEN NEED TO SIT STILL AND OBSERVE BEFORE TAKING ACTION. THE BLOG BELOW IS ABOUT LEARNING TO WATCH BEFORE MAKING A DECISION, AND SOMETIMES MAKING THE DECISION TO FAIL.

I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE HONOUR OF BEING OFFERED A TWO-WEEK RESIDENCY AT THE WATTS GALLERY TO EXPLORE THE VICTORIAN VIRTUAL REALITY EXHIBITION WHICH CONTAINS BRIAN MAY’S COLLECTION OF STEREOSCOPIC IMAGES.

Having spent a lot of time playing with AI recently, working out the best format for prompting (what I consider as a new form of language), and also organising my thoughts and process through embracing a blog as a format of process, I realised that communication and the combining of visual and text-based research, is very much at the core of my practice.
